There is good news in store for lovers of all things Twilight. Hachette India has recently announced the upcoming release of Stephanie Meyer’s latest book. Titled ‘The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella’- this will Meyer’s latest addition to her hugely popular Twilight saga after a nearly two year long hiatus.
Set to hit Indian bookstores on the 5th of June, the novella will give readers a softer look at Bree who made her first appearance in Eclipse as part of the vampire army created by Victoria. After playing a short lived, comparatively darker role amongst the wolf pack and the Cullens, the reason behind Meyer’s decision to dedicate an entire book to her character is already creating quite a buzz of interest among book lovers. In Meyer’s own words the book itself is as much of a surprise to her as it will be to her fans. In her official web page she writes, “The reason why it’s a surprise was that I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book. I began this story a long time ago—before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree’s perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn.”
In what the author promises to be another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, the story of Bree and the newborn army is what fans will be looking forward to most this summer.. Along with the book, Bree’s character will also be featured prominently in the upcoming movie from Summit Entertainment. As a special thank you to her fans, Meyer’s website will give exclusive viewing access to the novel on a dedicated website for a month beginning Monday, 7th June through Monday 5th July.
